How to use morphing as a humor technique in making short funny movie clips
More tips
A tip on making funny movie clips with the help of a technique called morphing and AVnex series of morpher software.
By Jimmy Tiep
Is being funny a god-given gift or a trained skill? Can you improve your sense of humor? Unless you are a
purist, humor is actually explicable.
The technique that I recommend is "morphing". I
coined this word myself. If you want a more proper word,
it's something like "juxtaposition".

Morphing means changing, or even distorting. Not all changes
make the object funny. But some do. It depends.
In terms of making short funny movie clips to upload on hip
site like YouTube so you have something to brag about, there are many things
you can morph. Here's my list:
1> Words. Do your
characters speak? If they do, make them speak funny stuffs
like, "I have no brain, but I give good head". See
how you are morphing the meanings of "brain" and "head".
2> Voices. Do you record
the speaking live or do you dub voiceovers? If you use
voiceovers, there's a chance you can make them sound funny
by morphing. There's an AVnex program called AV Voice Changer Software that lets you morph voices
as far as the opposite sex, robot, alien, animal, baby,
grandma, etc… It also provides you a quality recorder so you
can record and save your voiceover files in wav or mp3
files. For even more convenience, you can try another AVnex
program, AV Movie Morpher Gold 2.0. This one lets you morph
voices and dub directly to your clip from the microphone!
3> Music and SFX. You
are probably familiar with song parodies where lyrics are
"morphed" and just sound ridiculous. But what about morphing
the music track itself? Actually many do this to avoid
copyright issue. But you can be creative and fun at the same
time. Morph the music in such a way that it's not only very
different from the original but also funny. Again, AVnex has
a solution. Their Music Morpher Gold 3.0, which has
surpassed half a million downloads on CNET alone, is
designed to do that! You can do almost anything with a music
track, you can even remove the singing voice, plus you can
add hundreds of effects.
4> Visuals. And what
about the most eye-catching element? Do you have to be a 3D
artist to be able to morph visuals? No, AV Movie Morpher Gold 2.0 lets you edit movies in hundreds of ways with just
a few clicks. You can change the color scheme, add objects,
overlay rain drops, edit subtitles… You can change your
movie style to cartoon, documentary or horror. Be creative!
Morph, morph and morph!
