An Angel

(By George J. Carroll ) I remember way back, when my wife and I were having trouble paying some bills.
Our oil bill fell four months behind. I was concerned how I was going to pay it.

One day after supper I heard a knock on my door and when I opened it there stood a small lad selling chances to help his baseball team get uniforms. I asked him how much was each chance? He replied ten cents mister. I knew the only money in my pocket was a dime so I took a chance from him and forgot about the incident.

Some time later, I received a letter with a check for $250.00 and informing me that I had won first prize with the ticket I had bought earlier from that little lad.
It was a God send, as that was the amount that I owed to the oil company.
I cashed it and sent a check to pay off this bill.

I always felt, even to this day, that the little lad was an angel sent to us by God
to help our struggling days.
